Welcome!
Depression affects many youth. As such, there is a need for research examining the development of depression in youth and the efficacy of depression prevention programs in decreasing the risk of depression over time. The Institute for Research on Youth Depression and Prevention is dedicated to the rigorous investigation of empirically based prevention programs, included Interpersonal Psychotherapy-Adolescent Skills Training (IPT-AST), developed by principal investigator Dr. Jami F. Young. Our lab currently runs two NIMH-funded randomized control trials of depression prevention programs, the Depression Prevention Initiative and Personalized Depression Prevention projects.
